Who are we?
Louisiana Cancer Control Partnership (LCCP) is a CDC funded initiative, sponsored by the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. It is comprised of one hundred organizations and over two hundred individuals all committed to reducing the cancer burden of the State of Louisiana. The original goal of LCCP was to develop a state comprehensive cancer control plan; this goal was achieved August 2004.
2004-2009 Louisiana Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan
Comprehensive Cancer Control is a collaborative process by which a community pools resources to reduce the burden of cancer. Standing by the word "partnership" in our name, LCCP does not recreate, but builds on and enhances existing foundations by working with organizations on state, regional, and local levels. To achieve this goal, Louisiana Cancer Control Partnership has a Regional Cancer Control Officer in all nine regions of the state. Each region of the state has formed a coalition of community stakeholders or representatives of organizations interested in cancer-related issues. These officers
serve as a voice and give direction on a local level. Louisiana Cancer Control Partnership is leading the efforts for cancer control in the Great State of Louisiana.
